A Hawaiian ranch house
Located in the uplands of the Big Island of Hawaii this three bedroom, three bath home is an example of a proper Hawaiian “Ranch House” with a large porch overlooking the property, a living room with a fireplace to suite the grand space and bedrooms enough for the ranch owner and visiting guests. Back stage a mud room and associated full bath allow folks to come in from working the land to clean up before they enter the more formal spaces. The open plan brings a dining table for eight into the living space, or – via large sliding doors – combines the indoor and outdoor spaces to handle a big group.
The owner, well familiar with the traditional style, asked for double hung windows, painted board and batten interior finish, local Eucalyptus Robusta floors, and the large porch sufficient to accommodate a good sized bunch.
